After graduate school I taught ancient languages for fifteen years then bought an anvil and a small portable forge to make some fixtures for my house. I became delighted about the possibility to make an infinite number of shapes and styles of ironwork and was thrilled, and still am, to create ironwork using the same tools and techniques as were used hundreds of years ago. I enjoy creating ironwork in a medieval style but often produce contemporary designs. Whether my work is medieval or contemporary, historic and authentic tools and procedures are always used.
