No question, the internet simplifies shopping. You hear about a product, and within a click or two, you know exactly where you can get it, how much it costs, and what it looks like… on a computer screen. But for certain kinds of purchases — custom work, expensive things, technically complicated systems — nothing will ever replace a face-to-face encounter with an expert. Which is why the annual FineHome Source Show, under the tent at Millbrook, New York’s Village Bandshell, is such a boon. More than 60 high-end exhibitors, some local, others from farther afield, display, explain, answer questions and demonstrate the sort of luxury goods and services that design professionals, such as the show’s organizer, architect James Crisp, routinely specify on their clients’ behalf.

Fine Home Source Show ‘kicks it up a notch’ for 2015
From fancy to functional, from decorative to utilitarian, whatever you want for your home is likely to be on display at the eighth annual Fine Home Source show.
The show, organized by Jimmy Crisp of Crisp Architects in Millbrook, is the place to start for those seeking an extravagant upgrade to their home or simply looking for some needed repairs. Crisp is known for designing elegant, historically accurate and energy conscious projects.
The show takes place Sept. 26 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Millbrook Bandshell, 3327 Franklin Ave. in the village.
Crisp said there will be more than 60 vendors represented this year, on par with last year, although, “The number is still in flux.”

A Crisp Autumn Day: The Fine Home Source Show In Millbrook
Picture your dream home, or maybe your dream second home. A grand old farmhouse tucked into the woods or abreast some rolling fields. Immaculately preserved, the house’s porch sweeps around to the back, where it meets the pool and the recently built guest house that mimics the main building down to the period glass in the windows. The sound of wind in the leaves around you is every so often interrupted by the clattering of pins in the private bowling alley you’ve installed in the renovated hay barn. Can’t you just see it?

The firm, headed by James Crisp, has been designing and restoring the most luxurious properties of the Hudson Valley, the Berkshires, and bordering Connecticut counties since 1985. On September 28, to showcase its vendors and present its clients with design elements from dreams they didn’t even know they had, Crisp will host its 6th annual Fine Home Source show at 3327 Franklin Avenue, Millbrook, NY, at the Village Bandshell.
